David & Ksenia's Rustic Loversall Barn Wedding

This wedding was the 1st of the year for me & what a way to kick off wedding season 2023! David and Ksenia got married on the 29th April 2023 at the beautiful Loversall Barn, which is a quirky barn venue in a very quiet, rural location in Doncaster.

It was the most beautiful wedding and even the rain later on in the day didn’t dampen anyone' spirits.

David got ready at home with the kids and unfortunately banged his head on the car door as the Bestman was jump starting the engine of his Landrover, after a slight mechanical blip 1st thing in the morning. Ksenia got ready at the Barn, in one of the cottages with her mum, little daughter Frankie, sister Diana and some other family members. What better to get ready in a cute little cottage with Alpacas in the paddock next door?

The ceremony was a beautiful service, with twinkly lights setting the scene for the bride to come down the stairs, into the Barn. During the ceremony they said their vows to one another, with Ksenia in tears. It was so emotional. David's son Tyler did a great job at 'Ring Security' and was ring bearer for the couple while Frankie, their daughter was a flower girl and did an excellent job scattering the petals on her way up the aisle.

After the ceremony canapes were served while the family photographs took place, starting with a confetti shot. We managed to block the Registrar in by doing the confetti shot in the road - so we had to move to let her out so she could get to her next wedding on time! After the family photos, everyone sat down in the Marquee for speeches and a delicious meal.

The day had a beautiful, rustic theme, which complimented the venue so well. For dinner they had Chicken with Bacon in sauce, with gorgeous cauliflower cheese, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle, and they finished off the evening with a huge buffet.

What was the best part of your day?

'All about it. It was just perfect. Loved every single of it. Ceremony for me was very emotional'

Why did you choose your wedding venue

'It’s just so beautiful fell in love with it the minute I’ve seen it. It was close to home and easy for everyone to get to too'

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?

'The Barn itself - so so beautiful - a proper hidden 'lil gem it is'

If you could do it all over again, is there anything you would change / do differently?

'Well as you know, Jamie Mathias didn’t make it to us as his car broke down so if we were to do it again I’d ask him to travel day before and stop in a hotel so he’s definitely there haha'

What advice would you give to other couples when planning their Wedding?

'Forget the sitting plans everyone will just end up sitting where they want'

Is there anything else you'd like to say about your wedding?

'Our day couldn’t of gone any better. The cake knife went missing at one point & I got really worried but it then turned out someone just moved them out of day because of kids haha'.
