Getting ready

Emma got ready at her mums  and the atmosphere was chilled and relaxed.  Kai got ready at home and then went to the Styrupp pub for a few cheeky drinks before going to the Registry Office the ceremony.   Emma says 'My hair was created by the amazing Sharni at Soul, Bawtry, who not only created the masterpiece, but helped me massively with my nerves and kept me very organised with the running of the day'.

The whole wedding was done on a budget of under £1000 - specifically at a  cost £890. The couple managed this by being thrifty and ordering the wedding dress from china, and the suits from Next. They had existing sentimental rings made into their wedding rings - Emma says 'my ring was one that was originally bought for me by parents, when I was 16, but I had it cut off in 2015. Before the Wedding, I found it and had it repaired for the special day. Kai's ring was originally his grandads ring - he gave it to Kai when he was 18. We had it melted into to a band. This meant the rings were very sentimental to us both!'.

The ceremony

The ceremony was short but sweet with time for a few family photos in the courtyard before the rain kicked in!

The reception

The reception was at the Styrupp pub in Rossington. They chose the Styrrup as its where Kai grew up, as his parents used to run the pub so they felt it was the perfect place to party. Emma says Helen and Stewarts great ideas & food really made the day special. Emma decorated the room with the help of my sister in law and friend Melissa. They decorated the venue with Multi coloured pom poms hanging from the ceiling and Multi coloured balloons. It looked quirky, with a summer festival vibe. Emma says 'the colour scheme was originally orange then when the boys were looking at Ties, Ozzy wanted pink & Tomas wanted blue, so I  thought lets go multi'. I also like to think the colours represented Kai and I well.

Emma had  her fabulous flowers made by lady who has a Facebook page called Fantastical Flowers and they were exceptional, especially for the cost too.  Emma also has loads of praise for her cake maker, a local lady called Pauline Sykes. Emma says 'What can I say. Pauline Sykes again did an amazing job, it was just perfect and tasted amazing'.

For dinner they had a wonderful buffet of hot & cold food, put together by Stewart, the pubs Landlord. Emma says 'Well, Stewart did us proud with the food and his commitment from start to finish!'.

The couple

Emma wore a dress she ordered from china  and Kai's suit was from Next. They may have been on a budget but they didn't look like they were.

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is 'to have a day for YOU only YOU, let it be as big or as small as you want, but ultimately make sure its perfect for yourself and not others! Don't stress the day passes sooooooo quickly and its true what they say "I wish i could do it all over again". Big shout out to my photographer too'.

Emma and Kai’s wedding really does prove that you don't need to break the bank or spend years planning your wedding! Here are a few pics from their fab day. Emma says 'I can't say I had a best part of the day as the WHOLE day was amazing, especially sharing it with friends and family. However, the most amazing bit will be spending the rest of my life with my amazing Kai'.

Now, this wedding was amazeballs, I totally loved shooting every minute of it, not least because I have known Nick & Laura for around 4 years and shot all kinds of things for them, including her mums wedding and her kids Christening days. So, it is nice to work with someone who you know a bit and so lovely for me to see how all their kids are growing into wonderful human beings. To say Laura had a vision for her wedding, is an understatement. They have had the day booked with me for about 3 years and at the time I first went to see them about it, Laura knew she wanted 'Big & Sparkly' .... and that's exactly how the day was. Even the dodgy British weather held out!  Even though it's August, the weather seems to think it is April with either sunshine or massive unpredictable showers. At least the weather played ball for the Balls! However, it was a little windy after the ceremony, when we were taking the family photographs and at one point, I did think the bride was at risk of taking off as her dress became like a parachute in the wind, however the Bridesman jumped in to save the day and hold the dress down!

The excitement before the wedding

Nicholas got ready at home, with his best man and son Rueben. While Nick was relatively calm & chilled, his best man was a bag of nerves. He need not have worried though as he smashed his best mans speech, even though they waited, as is tradition, until after the meal to do them.

Laura got ready at the Mount Pleasant, with her bridespeople, so called because one of them was a Man! The little bridesmaid dresses were  from Oliver's at Meadowhall, while the adult ones were from Flutterbys boutique in Rossington. The bridesman looked dapper in a suit.  The Groomsmens fab suits were sourced from Youngs suit hire.  The couple hired a big Red Bus from vintage vehicle hire to ferry all the guests from Mount Pleasant to the Minster and back, and  hired their beautiful wedding cars from Fairytale wedding cars.

When I arrived at the Mount Pleasant, the bridal party were having their hair and make up done. The flower girls had super cute flower bands to wear in their hair and they all looked super cute, while Laura opted for a fab hair piece & long Cathedral veil. The make up was provided by make up artist- Laura Doody & the hair was styled by Cuts & Co, based in Armthorpe. Laura had her magnificant Bridal Bouquet made by Melancholy magpie. You really have to look at the detail and prettiness in them, in the pics below.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held at Doncaster Minster. They chose this venue as it was where they had We had their daughter baptised,  and it was a truly beautiful ceremony. Laura chose the prefect dress for a Minster wedding from Be envied bridal, with a huge train and she looked every inch the beautiful bride. Laura says 'Apart from marrying Nick, wearing my dress was the best part of the day'.  You'll see why when you look at the beautiful photos of her in her dress!

The Reception

The reception was at the beautiful Mount Pleasant. Laura says 'After searching as far as York and Snaith for a venue, it was the last place we looked and we absolutely loved it'. The magnificent seven tier cake was provided by Mama Doreen in Harrogate. With regards the theme for the day, Laura says 'I started with wanting a Disney style theme but then that changed into a more glam style but still included my favourite colour pink'. The couple had a delicious chocolate fountain for the evening guests, from cupcakes 2 love, as well as a candy floss cart, from candy floss queen. They also had giant L O V E  letters, from Bridget Bridal Creationz, a sparkly dance floor from diamond photo booths and a bouncy castle from Funbounce entertainment.

The Couple

The couple say that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is plan everything as early as possible - as they did and it caused so much less stress for them.  Laura says about her day 'I wouldn't change anything but in hindsight, I would of had a videographer to capture the bits I did not see'.  Laura also says 'It ran so smoothly it was just perfect, I have serious wedding blues even a week later'.

Laura says she wants to give a special shout out to 'My Something Borrowed Wedding And Event Styling who styled the  wedding did an absolutely amazing job! And obviously our photographer who has never failed us'!!  As your photographer, Id like to say that is very kind of you Laura!  And hopefully Laura, this Blog will help with reliving your day, and don't forget, you still have your full batch of wedding photos to come yet, plus your DVD slideshow! And then your album too!

Nicholas and Laura’s wedding was magnificent in every way. Here are a few pics from their big day.  If you’re planning a wedding, get in touch to find out all about my wedding photography packages!  Lots of Love, Vicky @ Fyshcreative Photography!

A WET BUT WONDERFUL WEDDING AT CUSWORTH HALL – EMILY AND JAKE https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2019/8/a-wet-but-wonderful-wedding-at-cusworth-hall-emily-and-jake

Emily and Jake got married this summer at the beautiful Cusworth Hall, which is a stunning venue in Doncaster. It was such a fun wedding and even the rain, or getting stuck in horrendous traffic didn’t dampen the day!  This was a lovely wedding for me as I shot the Brides brothers wedding (The fab Leigh & Frankie) in 2018 so I already knew a lot of the couples family and friends.  This is an added bonus as a wedding photographer!

The morning prep

Emily got her hair and make up done at Milanda’s Bawtry, which is located at 54 – 56 High street in Bawtry, then went back to her parents house in Auckley, to meet all the other bridesmaids and her Dad too.  The atmosphere was full of excitement.  Jake got ready at home, then following on traditional from Leigh & Frankies wedding, went to the Eagle & Child for pre-ceremony drinks, before Jake & the groomsmen and the guests were collected by Bus to travel to the Ceremony.

The ceremony

The ceremony was at Cusworth Hall, once everyone, including the registrars got through the crazy traffic that day. They chose Cusworth Hall because they love it. When Emily arrived, as the registrar still wasn't there, she got taken and hidden in a side room, so that the guests could come back out of the ceremony room, as it was getting a bit hot & stuffy in there.

Emily says 'I got bundled off into the library with mum dad, bridesmaids and page boys and we're supplied with Prosecco (still don't know if this was Cusworth or the registrars that paid for this) and I was genuinely quite relaxed!! Jake and the other guests were taken out of the main room and all mainly headed to the bars too. Jake was relaxed about it all too, but says he was hot. However, even an hour and 15 delay didn't impact on an amazing day, we just rolled with it and took it all in'.

The reception

The reception was held at Peacocks in Finningley.  They decorated the venue in a rustic fashion with hessian & foliage.  Emily says 'The inspiration for the colour scheme and decoration was really just because we're not very formal people and I'm not really into pink and girly so we really wanted it to be chilled out and fun. I have loved fairy lights forever so they needed to be included to make it all twinkly and Jake likes a good candle and lantern so they just worked together lovely'. Emily says 'We were lucky to have Jess, Jakes sister,  who bought all the jars, decorated them and filled them with sweets for the sweet table which looked amazing. Both sets of families in general and the  bridesmaids and best man helped so much. They were the ones who we just helped out for weeks without moaning and seemed to enjoy being involved'.

In the afternoon, they had a fantastic, colourful buffet, complete with a wedding cake made entirely out of cheese.  And then in the evening. they had a disco and fun was had by everyone, although the rain persisted most of the night.

The couple

The couple met at through a mutual friend and now work together, with Jake messaging Emily on Watsap to ask her out, however she mistakenly thought he meant with all their work buddies too, so she told her she would let him know when she had spoken to the team!

The couple say that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to take it all in and enjoy every moment, even the things that feel like they're going wrong. Emily says 'On the day make sure to enjoy time together'. She says at one point, they both just stood together and looked around at all their nearest and dearest in one room together and that is a moments that will stay with them forever. Emily says 'We even had guests travel from across the country, from France and Germany to be there so they amazed us'.

As for the great British weather, Emily says 'the rain certainly didn't dampen the day, it was funny that it was the start then of a non-stop 7 day wet period and it was nice that it wasn't boiling hot. It also worked in our favour for the reception because it meant then that people were involved and felt close by all day as people weren't spread out across the rooms as well as the garden area. It felt cosy. It was just a shame that it meant I was too nervous to put my train down! I remember panicking that I was going to be really late and worrying that the registrars wouldn't marry us because we'd missed our time because town was gridlocked but then on getting to Cusworth, my Dad & I got got told the news that the registrar wasn't there yet and I instantly relaxed'

Emily and Jake’s wedding was amazing. Here’s a few images from their big day. If you’re currently planning a wedding, please feel free to get in touch for a quote on any of my wedding day photography packages.

ELEGANT BAWTRY HALL WEDDING – EMMA AND DARREN https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2019/6/elegant-bawtry-hall-wedding-emma-and-darren Emma and Darren got married last summer at the spectacular Bawtry Hall, which is a stunning Stately Home in Bawtry, Doncaster. It was a gorgeous day and even the occasional thundery downpour didn't damper anyone's spirits

The excitement before the wedding

Emma got ready at her gorgeous farm house with her mum, mother in law, sister in law & 4 little bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. Darren got ready at the nearby Crown Hotel, which is  only a few minutes walking distance to Bawtry Hall, which is a good thing as rain was threatening all day!

The ceremony & reception

The ceremony was an intimate affair in small but beautiful room at the venue. complete with harp music & clean white blossom trees. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was an emotional, personal service. Although the bride arrived in plenty of time, she kept the groom waiting an extra 10 minutes before entering to walk down the aisle, which had everyone in stiches while wondering what she was doing! The couple actually had the whole house & gardens to themselves for the whole day, so after the ceremony, guests moved outside for the family photos, then into the grounds for canapes, before into another equally gorgeous room for their wedding breakfast. They lawn games in the afternoon, and a DJ in the evening.

The couple

Emma and Darren’s wedding had so much elegance and fun. I was everything I love about weddings and so laid back.  Here’s a selection of images from their gorgeous wedding!  If you’re planning at Bawtry Hall, get in touch for details of my wedding photography packages!

URBAN STYLED SHOOT WITH A BOHO TWIST @ 92 BURTON ROAD, SHEFFIELD – CINDY AND ANT https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2019/3/industrial-urbanstyled-shoot-with-a-boho-twist-92-burton-road-sheffield-cindy-and-ant SO, THE OTHER DAY I JOINED IN A STYLED SHOOT IN SHEFFIELD AT THE FAB 92 BURTON RD, WHICH IS AN OLD WAREHOUSE THAT HAS BEEN CONVERTED INTO A QUIRKY OPEN PLAN BAR.

Cindy and Antony are models who work for Tyneside Models but they are actually a real couple so it was easy for them to act like loved up newly weds! There are so many wedding themes out there - you might want a traditional wedding, a vintage theme, a Harry Potter theme or even a tea party theme. The sky is the limit when it comes to choosing the theme for a wedding. With a little creativity, you can bring your ideas to life, no matter how out-there they are! The brief for this shoot was to create some urban, industrial style hipster wedding images, which was very exciting.

The shoot took place at the Fab 92 Buron Road, near Kelham Island in Sheffield and it is the perfect place to hold a city centre, cool hispter wedding! There is masses of potential in this venue. It is set in the middle of a fab little courtyard in a trendy spot with plenty of potential for photographs  If you are in the initial planning stages of your wedding, I have included a bit of general advice here & links to all the fabulous suppliers who took part in this shoot.

If you have got engaged over Christmas or Valentines day, you will now be starting out on the planning process for your own big day. On average, most couples start planning their wedding between 12 and 18 months before their wedding date, but some couples, myself included do it in a much shorter timescale.

A large part of the initial wedding planning process includes setting your budget with coming up with ideas themes and other creative components of your wedding. If you haven't yet set  a date, it really is never too soon to do this as the best venues can book up quickly. Now’s the time to start visiting venues you like & getting a feel for them. It is YOUR wedding, so choose a venue because you love it!  There are so many things to think about when planning your wedding. Once you have a venue, now is also the time to start thinking about your wedding breakfast, so called because it is the first meal of your married life and nothing to do with breakfast at all!. Ask for tasting samples & negotiate prices. If you opt for a non traditional buffet or grazing table or want one of these for your evening reception, I cannot recommend Bears pantry highly enough. Delicious food, set out artistically, so your guests are treated to a visual and culinary treat! Perfect if you are pair of ‘foodies’ with a love for local, northern grub with a twist.  Check out the images in the blog post of the food they provided on our shoot day which we all then got to eat afterwards! Very tasty!  If like me you love anything vintage & you also love prosecco, you will love the Tuks Fizz drinks van. You can hire this cute little van for your wedding either fully stocked or empty, so your venue can fill it from their own bar.  Another important thing to sort out in advance is your wedding cake because great bakers will become busy during wedding seasons. The wedding cake is an important wedding tradition and you do not want to leave this part of the planning process to chance. In fact, if you want a professionally made wedding cake, you will want to start planning the wedding cake as early in advance as possible. Check out the fabulous cake made by Urban Cakehouse in the images below.  Finding the right hair and makeup artist is essential. You will want to book appointments a few months in advance, especially if you are booking appointments for the whole wedding party. Why not contact Jen Edwards for a quote. She did a fab job of styling our models for the day, as you can see in these images. Then there are other things to plan which you might not even think about, but which can really add a funky vibe to your wedding. Lighting for instance. The fabulous guys at Typical Type decked out the interior of 92 Burton Rd with some cool string lights which really suited the whole vibe of the shoot.  I could go on and on but I have included a link to all the suppliers below so you can nosey through them all at your own leisure. I hope this blog gives you a bit of inspiration for your own big day!

LAID BACK, RUSTIC WEDDING AT FISHLAKE MILL – RICHARD AND LYNN https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/10/laid-back-rustic-wedding-at-fishlake-mill-richard-and-lynn Richard & Lynn have been together 8 years. Richard is an old friend of Lynn's sister and asked her for Lynn's number & the rest is history, as the saying goes. They have 2 kids, Jordyn who is 16 & Kaden who is 12. They also have a cute little dog called Alfie. When writing this blog, I got thinking about the word Rustic - as I use it a lot to describe weddings. When I googled it's exact definition, this is what I found. Adjective: Rustic; relating to the countryside, rural. Having a simplicity and charm that is considered typical of the countryside. And you know what, this really does describe Fishlake Mill. I love this venue for it's simple, beautiful charm & countryside feel. You can even stroke the horses or feed the ducks as you mingle with the wedding guests!

Richard and Lynn got married in summer at the awesome Fishlake Mill, which is a quirky Mill & Farm in Fishlake, Doncaster. It was a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long! You can find a link to the venue here: http://www.fishlakemill.co.uk/ They picked Fishlake Mill because they like rustic country style decor & the outdoor areas allowed them to have the theme they wanted. They also liked that the venue was local, but not a hotel.  They chose to have their wedding late in the day so it felt more like a party than a wedding. They wanted the wedding to feel laid back, relaxed,  not too fussy & definitely not formal.

The excitement before the wedding

Richard got ready at home while Lynn got ready at Fishlake Mill, in the Mill building itself, which is quaint & cosy.

The ceremony

The ceremony was conducted outdoors, with guests sat on hay bales. The couple kept the wedding small, so all of their favorite people could be there.

The reception

The reception was in the Marquee

Details of the day

The couple say that when planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they can give you is to just relax and enjoy it!

RUSTIC DIY FISHLAKE MILL WEDDING WITH LILY-BUS CAMPER VAN – TARRYN AND MATTHEW https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/10/rustic-diy-fishlake-mill-wedding-with-lily-bus-camper-van RUSTIC DIY FISHLAKE MILL WEDDING WITH LILY-BUS CAMPER VAN – TARRYN AND MATTHEW

Tarryn and Matthew had a marriage ceremony this autumn at the rustic Fishlake Mill. Check out the venues website here: http://www.fishlakemill.co.uk/ I love love love this Venue. It is one of my favorite local wedding venues because it is quirky and feels rural, as it is down a little lane, on a farm, surrounded by fields. It has the most cute as can be Mill, and there are loads of photo opportunities all around the venue. You can also stroke the horses, although the goat is a bit shy!  It was a gorgeous day and even the weather played ball! They were able to get married outside, while the guests sat on hay bales. That is very lucky for this time of year. I shot a half day wedding package for them. The afternoon was absolutely beautiful.  The couple had already had a legal ceremony at the Registry office, followed by an afternoon tea at Rossington Hall, so the day at Fishlake was all about family and getting their kids involved as much as they could, without any worries about the legalities.

Tarryn says 'Matt and I met on Guardian Soulmates. I ‘liked’ his profile and he sent me a message - on 14th February 2015! Our first date was a week later and we have been together ever since.  We have 4 daughters. Lucy (10), Katie (8), Lilly-Mae (6) and Emily (8 months). We also have 3 chickens, 2 cats and 1 rabbit. The cats are both males (gives Matt some male solidarity, that and he also has a large shed in the garden where he can fettle with his bikes but I won’t let him have a kettle or chair in it so that he has to come inside sometimes!)

The Ceremony

The ceremony was a family affair. The couple opted to include their 4 children by doing a ribbon ceremony where each child wrapped a ribbon of a different colour around the Bride & Grooms wrists to bind them together as a family. They then used paint of their ribbon colour to create a unique piece of art, during the wedding ceremony too. Amazingly, non of the bridesmaids got any paint on their bridesmaid dresses at all!

The couple say 'We honestly couldn’t choose a favourite part of the day - it was all so much fun. But we did really enjoy involving the children in the ceremony and making sure that they knew that they were a huge part of us and our relationship'. To do this, the couple had to have a ‘legal ceremony’ at the register office prior to their wedding day and then got a celebrant - Andrea Bonser from Rossington - involved to lead the ceremony on the day. The couple say 'Andrea had fantastic ideas about how to involve the children and make the ceremony a family one. So many people have complimented us on the ceremony and that is all down to Andrea'. Here is a link for Andrea, should you wish to plan a similar service:  https://www.uksoc.com/doncaster-south-yorkshire-family-wedding-civil-celebrant-andrea-bonser/

The Reception

The reception was in the newly refurbished Restaraunt at the Mill, rather than in the marquee. Tarryn had made all the decor herself and the room looked simply stunning. They had gone for a rustic, autumn theme with pine cones, simple flowers, bunting & decorated glass jars. Tarryn says 'Our wedding was a total Pinterest wedding. I did all the table decorations and the cake'.

For dinner they had a delicious hog roast, which had been cooking away all morning. They then had a dessert of Jelly & Icecream! They followed their wedding breakfast with a pub quiz instead of speeches. Tarryn says 'Fishlake Mill fitted with the rustic theme we wanted especially the gorgeous solid wood tables in the restaurant with the grain in the wood showing. It was also a blank canvas that we knew we could decorate the way we wanted. We wanted a small wedding and felt that the Marquee that they also have available would be too big for the sort of small informal wedding we were planning. That was why we chose the hog roast and jelly and ice cream, we didn’t want too much formality. Matt even decided to ditch the speeches and planned a pub quiz instead'.

The couple have their own VW camper van, which their hire out to couples for Weddings. Tarryn says 'Our wedding transport was our own VW bus. Matt has decorated it without me knowing with hearts and fairy lights - it was beautiful. Lilly-bus fit with the theme too. We do hire her out for weddings anyone interested in hiring her can contact us on 07745587634'.

Here is a small selection of images from their day. If you are planning a wedding at Fishlake Mill & would like to know more about my photography services, just text your wedding day to 07834 912507 & I will contact you to arrange a quote.

FRENCH HOLLOW IS THE HORSE BEHIND THIS RACING-THEMED FAMILY WEDDING – CRAIG AND KAYLEIGH https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/10/french-hollow-is-the-horse-behind-this-racing-themed-family-wedding-craig-and-kayleigh FRENCH HOLLOW IS THE HORSE BEHIND THIS RACING-THEMED FAMILY WEDDING – CRAIG AND KAYLEIGH

Craig and Kayleigh got married this September on a fairly cold, rainy day but the pair of them consider themselves winners what ever the weather as they had a horse racing theme. Their top table was called French Hollow, because the groom jokes that this horse is the reason he got stuck with the bride! One day, he had been to the races at Doncaster and won a lot of money backing that horse. He then walked into their local pub, The Poacher, very cocky in his suit and red shirt and that was the day she first properly noticed him. Kayleigh says 'he has a very cute bum in a suit!'.  The couple have now been together for 7 years this Christmas, but had known each other as friends before that. Their story began when Craig plucked up the courage to kiss her in the Labour Club & the rest is history, as they say. Their family consists of Alfie (age 10), Isla-Rose (age 4), Luna the giant French rabbit and Rudi the springer (both age 3)!

Craig and Kayleigh got married this autumn at the Holiday Inn at Warmsworth. They chose the venue because of the price & locality. It was important that it was somewhere close so family could easily get there. Both Kayleigh & Craig are very family orientated.

The excitement before the wedding

Craig got ready at the Brides Mothers house with Alfie and the Brides step dad & his best man, Westie, and the atmosphere was calm & collected. Craig didn't appear to have any last minute nerves. The boys then headed  to the ceremony. Once they arrived, and were joined by the other Groomsmen, the groom gave out gifts to all the men. They all got a specially engraved pocket watch.

Kayleigh got ready at the hotel itself, with Isla Rose, her mum and her bridesmaids including both her sisters. The Bride then only had short walk from her hotel room to the room where the wedding was to take place.

The ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service in the main hall. at the Holiday Inn. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so emotional and so beautiful.

The reception

The reception was in the same room as the ceremony, however, it had been partitioned off for the ceremony. Now the venue staff had opened the whole room.  They chose Holiday Inn at Warmsworth because it was the right place & location. They had a Racing-themed wedding, because as the bride says 'Going to the races is something special that me and Craig enjoy together every year for his birthday (we go to the November handicap) and also was special for my Grandpa; his favourite horse was Red Rum which was one the table names. Other table names included Desert Orchid, because it has become a family tradition to back grey horses. Kayleigh says 'my Mums Nana always backed grey horses and my Mum has kept up this tradition'. Kayleigh says 'Mum has plenty of luck with the grey horse tradition lol'.
The room was decorated beautifully. In addition, the bride & her step dad Sean created an amazing memory ladder, which actually became a work of art for them, carefully created with lights & flowers. On this ladder they included photos of everyone who is sadly no longer with them.

They had a drinks reception immediately after the ceremony, followed by family photos. For dinner they had a 3 course slap up meal, which was absolutely delicious. They also played speech bingo. In the evening, they had a party with a disco. The first dance was just between Craig & Kayleigh to Kodaline, The One, but then they had a second dance which involved getting the whole wedding party getting on the dancefloor. The dance they got everyone up was to Earth Wind and Fire, Sepyember as the lyrics are 'do you remember the 21st Night of Sptember' - the date of the wedding!
The bride was then surprised by Alfie, with a special dance just for the two of them to One Direction, History. This was the point I left them to it, to get tipsy without a camera constantly on them!  The bride also had a dance with her Father in Law, Pete. He managed to walk to her, without his sticks, which really touched Kayleigh. They danced to Celine Dion 'I’m alive'.

Kayleigh also wants to give to a shout out for the flowers. These were made by  Cheryl Jones. Kayleigh says 'She’s fantastic and very well priced does real as well as artificial'.

Kayleigh says 'My favourite part of the wedding for me was when my Dad, Sean and Alfie first saw me and then when Craig first saw me, when I walked up the aisle. And the dances. I obviously enjoyed dancing with my husband but the special dance with Alfie and also the dance with Pete were just amazing. I can’t really say what my favourite bit was because the whole day was just beautiful and I couldn’t of imagined it better'.
The couple say that when you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to just take a minute to enjoy the day, as it goes so so fast. Kayleigh also says 'Our day wasn’t just about me and Craig it was about family, at one point I just stood and looked around and was overwhelmed with all the love in the room, appreciate every little moment and take time to take in all the small details that you probably spent months perfecting'.

Craig and Kayleigh’s wedding was full to brim with love. Here are a few images from their special day.

5 STAR LUXURY HOTEL WEDDING IN SUNNY CYPRUS – LAUREN AND ROSS https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/10/5-star-luxury-hotel-wedding-in-sunny-cyprus-lauren-and-ross 5 STAR LUXURY HOTEL WEDDING IN SUNNY CYPRUS – LAUREN AND ROSS

I travelled all the way to Cyprus to shoot Ross & Lauren's big day. They got married at the fabulous 5 star King Evelthon Hotel in Paphos, with their closest friends & family in tow. King Evelthon Beach Hotel is directly located on the beachfront of Chlorakas bay, in fabulous well cared for, landscaped gardens of 100,000 square meters. The hotel also has its own Water park, a kids club and  several a la carte restaurants.  It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot, especially as I got a holiday in Cyprus at the same time, with my husband, who cam along on the day to help me out.  The hot Cypriot sun shone all day long & fun was had by all!

The excitement before the wedding

The Groom spent the morning in the hotel swimming pool. I had to ask him to swim up to me for photos. I did joke that I have never had a swim-up groom before. Meanwhile the bride got pampered in the hotel salon, getting her hair and make up done. Lauren says 'the hair and make up team also did a brilliant job on myself and our other guests'; everyone looked stunning. Lauren had her nails done prior to leaving England by the talented Holly Nevin.

The ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate affair under a gazebo, directly overlooking the sea. It was the perfect spot. During the ceremony Lauren & Ross read their vows to each other in a beautiful and personal service. They then cut their cake and we did the family photos in the beautiful surroundings.  Lauren says 'Our chosen wedding venue at the King Evelthon was perfect. Nicely decorated and personal with a lovely backdrop for photographs.  Our ceremony was very informal. Anita even had to chase off some dudes in Speedos who kept trying to intrude'.

After the ceremony

The guests went into an air conditioned room for a cocktail immediately after the wedding. As a surprise Lauren & Ross had laid on a Red Tour Bus to take all the guests on a Champagne tour of Paphos. This was great fun. Perhaps the MOST fun I have ever had at a wedding, even though  I had to take my life in my hands on the speeding bus to get photos of the guests enjoying the ride. The Bus blasted out party music and honked at cars, other buses and people in the street bars as we passed.  Lauren says 'The Wedding Bus Cyprus was an amazing tour of Paphos. Everyone loved it and had so much fun. Everyone was waving we felt like royalty. Our favourite part of the day was definitely the bus everyone singing and dancing away with Champagne, Beers and Wine. It was such a laugh. This also helps cool everyone down but does ruin your hair'. Embarrassingly, for me, at one point my dress blew up and exposed my pants to Lauren, who found this absolutely hilarious! It also happened to a few of the other female guests too!

The reception

The reception was in the pool bar restaurant at the Hotel. Lauren says 'The reception was great. The area was decorated exactly how we wanted, with everything in the perfect place. We chose a BBQ buffet which everyone enjoyed with almost too much choice of food and deserts'.

During the heartfelt speeches, the DJ had a few slip ups with the microphone, but this added to the fun but the problems were soon rectified. The DJ even had a dance with the Bride & Groom at the end of the night. During the couples first dance, the guests 'sparkled' around the edge of the dance floor. The Bride & Groom then did a Sparkler tunnel. I stuck around after this to have a drink with the couple, but couldn't resist keeping my camera with me as  I knew that the couple were planning to make a splash at the very end of the night by jumping into the pool in their wedding clothes. The Groom gave me the nod when he slipped in, so I could take photos of everyone else scrambling to get in. Unfortunately, the hotel manager came and told everyone to get out. However, he did shake the brides dad's hand and have a laugh and joke with everyone as they got out. I had a very wet & soggy cuddle from the bride & groom when we left for the evening after the party ended. They were all going on a boat trip the next day, and I expected there may be some sore heads from the party antics of the evening, including most of the guests laying on the floor and being fed shot out of a bottle directly into the mouth!

Details of the day

Venue: https://www.tsokkos.com/hotel/King-Evelthon-Beach-Hotel-and-Resort/ Lauren wants to give a big shout out to Anita, their wedding coordinator at King Evelthon who she says 'was amazing and organised everything from decor to having my dress cleaned after the wedding day. And was an amazing help in keeping everyone calm, organised and collected on the day and most importantly on time'. I would also like to second that - she made my job so easy!

Dress: https://www.wed2b.co.uk/locations/south-yorkshire/yorkshire/wedding-dresses-rotherham As you can see Lauren looked stunning. She actually lost an amazing 4 stone, at her local slimming world group prior to the wedding allowing her to wear her perfect dress.

COUNTRY HOTEL AUTUMN WEDDING WITH A HINT OF BATMAN – KYLIE AND LEE https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/10/country-hotel-autumn-wedding-with-a-hint-of-batman-kylie-and-lee COUNTRY HOTEL AUTUMN WEDDING WITH A HINT OF BATMAN – KYLIE AND LEE

Kylie and Lee got married this October at the awesome Parish Church in Gainsborough, which is a stunning Church, the biggest in Gainsborough & also where the grooms parents got married. It was a gorgeous day and even the rain didn’t dampen the day! They choose their reception venue because their best friends got married at the same place, four years earlier and they had already fallen in love with the venue.  They wanted the theme to be a good mixture of both their personalities, so they tied together the traditional with a comic book theme & it worked, being a little bit woodland and a little bit Batman!

The excitement before the wedding

Kylie got ready at her bridesmaids house, who is also Lee's sister, with her other adult bridesmaids and the kids, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. There were lots of tears during the morning, which I love as I do love to capture raw emotion. The bride then rode a fancy wedding car to get to the ceremony. Unfortunately, they had forgotten the wedding rings, so the bridesmaid had to make a mad dash home to collect them. Luckily, she only lives less than 10 mins away from the Church! Lee got ready at his parents house. When I got there, he was chilling with his Dad over a cuppa. He travelled to the ceremony with his best man, who is also his brother. Unfortunately, it did start to rain as the guests started to arrive. but this didn't spoil the excitement of the day.

The ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service in the stunning Church. During the ceremony they had a couple of beautiful readings from friends and family. It was such a personal service and a real tear-jerker.

The reception

The reception was at the fabulous West Retford Hotel. T The Batman / floral theme was amazing. I love shooting quirky weddings because it is fun to capture all the little details, such as the back of their beautiful wedding cake, which had the complete Bat cave carved into it. They had a 3 course sit down meal in the afternoon, and a photobooth in the evening. For dinner they had a roast dinner, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance was to Ed Sheeran, and I finished off their coverage with them cutting their fabulous Batman cake. I then left them all to get merry, without a camera capturing their every move!

The best part of the day was when it stopped bucketing it down long enough for me to get up the fire escape to take a heart shaped group photo from the top. I also took the bride & groom outside for photos, with my big red umbrella while it was drizzling a bit too, but I do not mind getting wet to get the perfect photo!

Details of the day

Venue: https://www.westretfordhotel.co.uk/ They chose West Retford because they were already in love with the place, after their best friends wedding a few years prior. It was where they always wanted to have their wedding.

Dress: http://www.jdezire.co.uk/ Kylie's beautiful & unusual wedding gown was from jdezire in Lincoln. The adult bridesmaids dresses were from ASOS and the younger girls dresses were from jj’s house. The 4 little dresses were altered by a lovely woman called Sue and the Grooms mother, Gillian.

Cake: http://www.cbcakes.co.uk/ This cake had to be seen to be believed, as it included a full replica Bat Cave,  complete with dangling bats!

Decor: http://www.keithwoodsweddingsandevents.co.uk/ The room looked truly beautiful. The floral decorations, chair covers and centre pieces transformed the room into a magical woodland with a hint of Bat man!

Photobooth: https://magicimages.uk/ All the guests enjoyed the photobooth -  it was a huge hit in the evening!

Kylie says 'My favourite part of the day was the reception because I got to see all the people we love the most and it was nice to catch up with some we hadn’t seen for a while'.  The couple have been together nearly 13 years engaged for 10. They met through mutual friends. Kylie was actually friends with Lee's brother before she met Lee. They have two beautiful daughters aged 8 and 6 called Millie and Maddison, who came to their pre wedding shoot and joined in. Together, they love family time and seeing extended family, including the grandparents, aunties and uncles & doing fun things altogether.

The couple say that  when you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to enjoy every bit of the day it goes by so fast and not to stress about the little things , as it will all come together in the end. Kylie also says make sure you marry your best friend - she says 'I knew when I met lee I’d met my soul mate and he would be the one I’d spend the rest of my life with. He’s just amazing!'

Kylie and Lee’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and had such a fun atmosphere. Here’s a few images from their Batman-tastic Wedding

A BEAUTIFUL SUMMERY WEDDING – MATTHEW AND KIRSTIE https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/10/a-beautiful-summery-wedding-matthew-and-kirstie A BEAUTIFUL SUMMERY WEDDING – MATTHEW AND KIRSTIE

Matthew and Kirstie got married in summer at Armthorpe Rugby Club, which is a local sports venue in Armthorpe, Doncaster. Even though they picked the Rugby Club for the venue, neither has an interest in Rugby; they picked the venue for it's location & great service. Kirstie says 'We chose the venue as it was a large open space and big enough to hold all of our guests, the food was delicious, the staff were so helpful and attentive and it's a perfect party venue with a lovely balcony to sit on'.  The wedding was on one of the hottest days this summer & the sun shone all day. The wedding had a summery, floral theme with a massive party atmosphere in the evening - of the evening, the couple say themselves 'We had a photo booth, Sweet stall and glow sticks which we did ourselves. Every one was dancing and having a good time till 1am'.

The excitement before the wedding

Matthew got ready at home with his groomsmen, and the atmosphere was very relaxed, as the guys just milled about.  They then got suited and booted and jumped into the Ushers car, to get to the Rugby Club.

Kirstie got ready at her mum's house with her bridesmaids. Kerry, the Maid of Honour is not a hairdresser but is very good at styling, so she was very busy doing the bride & bridesmaids hair.  The bride travelled to the venue in a wedding car provided by Vulcan Wedding Cars, with her mum.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was conducted by the lovely staff from Doncaster Registry Office. The room was made pretty for the ceremony with chair covers, flowers & a decorated archway for the Bride & Groom to pass under. During the ceremony said their vows to each other, with a few tears shed from their guests. It was such a lovely, personal service, with the couples son as Ring Bearer.  After the ceremony, I lead all the guests outside to do the group photos. I even did a heart-shaped photo of the guests from the Balcony, looking down. Some of the kids decided to run on to the pitch and under the water sprinklers keeping the pitch healthy. I bet some of the adults would have liked to do it too as it was a really hot day!

The Reception

Matthew & Kirstie chose Armthorpe Rugby Club  https://www.castle-park.co.uk/your-event/weddings  because it has a large function room, perfect for weddings, with a large balcony, perfect for the hot weather on the day. The room was decorated beautifully by Sweet Memories. The couple had a sit down meal followed by speeches, which raised a lot of smiles, especially the photos from the stag do of Matthew in his Mankini.

Details of the day

Dress: http://www.jaynesbridalwear.co.uk/ Kirstie wore a beautiful wedding gown from Jaynes, she says 'I went to 4 bridal shops and went back to the first shop and one of the first dresses I tried on that my maid of honour picked out for me'. The bridesmaids dresses were from its bliss.

Cake: https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Bakery/The-Cake-Lady-Doncaster-250236488356008/ Kirstie says Michelle at The Cake Lady,  made the cake exactly how I asked for and changed her original wedding cake design so it had a  Liverpool design on the back.

Venue Styling: https://www.facebook.com/sweetmemoriesstyling/  Sweet Memories stepped in when the original venue stylist had to cancel. The couple say they were really professional and nice. The couple actually made all the signs, name cards, favours, advice cards etc  themselves. The bride says she had a lot of fun with her bridesmaids, while making and putting the finishing touches on to their hand made items, including making the flowers and button hole flowers with her Maid of Honour, Kerry.

Photobooth & Cars: https://www.photoboothdoncaster.com/ Phil at Vulcan provides both Cars & Photobooth as he has two sides to his business. 'Phil was amazing from start to finish and even made extra bows for Matt's car that he arrived in'

Suit: http://tickledpinkbridal.co.uk/ Matthew's suit was from tickled pink. As you can see form the pics, he looked fabulous on the day, with his groomsmen in matching attire.

Photography: https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/ Of my service, Kirstie says 'And also make sure you have an amazing photographer who catches all the special moments that you may not see or remember as it all happens so fast. There's things you have captured that we didn't see or remember. I love the secret messages and people have commented that doing them during the space between the meal and evening do kept things entertaining. The pics you took show what a fabulous time every one had'. (I promise I didn't pay them to say this!)

Matthew & Kirstie say....

The couple say that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to not forget each other on the day. It sounds obvious but as a bride or groom, you are in demand on your wedding day. Kirstie says make sure you spend ten minutes alone after the ceremony. 'I'm struggling for the favourite part as I loved it all. having ten minutes with Matt after the ceremony was really nice. I also enjoyed seeing every one enjoying themselves and laughing throughout the day'.  Matt agrees, and says 'My favourite part was the meal and speeches. I would advise couples to definately have a sit down meal and speeches, as you get to spend quality time with your closest friends and family and to see everyone having a good time'.

RUSTIC COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING WITH DOG AS RING BEARER – FRANKIE AND LEIGH https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/10/rustic-country-house-wedding-with-dog-as-ring-bearer-frankie-and-leigh RUSTIC COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING WITH DOG AS RING BEARER – FRANKIE AND LEIGH

Frankie and Leigh got married this summer at the gorgeous Cusworth Hall, which is an old grade 1 listed, country house in Cusworth, near Doncaster. It was a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long! They then had their after-party at Diamond Lounge in Doncaster town centre. The couple purposefully decided not to get in to debt for their big day - so decided to book their wedding on an off-peak day. Leigh says 'We booked our wedding for a Thursday as it saved us thousands and we were overwhelmed by how many of our friends and family made such an effort to get it off work. We even had a family member who was in the forces, who managed to get leave and come all the way back from Cyprus'.

The couple met at school and have been together for 9 years. We started a mortgage together in June 2016 and shortly after got our puppy Zeus, in October that year too.  They have been together 9 years ( high school sweethearts ) and  met via the brides sister, and as the bride says playfully,  'all hung around the streets in a big gang after school. getting up to no good'. The couple don't yet have kids, but say they plan to start a family in the next couple of years after they have finished partying at all their friends and families up-coming weddings. The couple say 'Our favourite people are definitely our parents as they really can not do enough to help us! So generous and caring! We planned and paid for our wedding in just 5 months and wouldn't of been able to do it without our family helping shop for plants, suits and decorate old food jars!'. The Groom even had his Dad as best man. This wedding was a real family affair.

The excitement before the wedding

Frankie got his hair done at Anarchy in Doncaster town centre, which is a quirky, little hair salon that I had never been in before. He then went home to get dressed. There are a certain number of things I look for during the Grooms prep, including The Suit Hanging up, the shoes, cuff links & tie, any written paper work, e.g speeches to be given, obviously the rings as well as general action shots of what is going on. The couple had also requested a photo of their dog, with the rings too - as the dog had an important role to play in the days proceedings. Once ready the groom went to the Eagle & Child pub in Auckley to meet the guests. The atmosphere was full of excitement as the guests prepared to alight the wedding bus to travel to Cusworth. I had a second shooter to capture the action for the groom prep & Eagle as it was impossible for me to in all 4 places where the prep took place, at once! This is the beauty of hiring a second shooter for your day.  I then edit all images, and blend them together to make the photos run seemlessly together.

Leigh got ready in town, firstly getting her hair done at Raffles Hair Salon, before moving on to get her make up done above the Georgian Tea Rooms. She then went to the Grooms parents house for her final prep. I look for things like any Congratulation cards / gifts given by friends & family, the dress hanging up, inc any special detailing , the shoes, the underwear / garter, the special items that are old, borrowed, new, blue, the flowers, both the Brides Bouquet &  the Bridesmaids flowers as well as all the action such as the  Bride having her hair & Make up done, the Bridesmaids helping bride with dress & the bride with her dad, or in this case both dads! She calls one Dad & one Father, so as not to get confused!

The ceremony

The couple chose Cusworth Hall for their ceremony because it is a local beauty spot, with amazing grounds. Leigh says 'We choose Cusworth Hall mainly because it is beautiful but we aren't really religious so just felt wrong to get married in a church. Amazingly Cusworth allowed us to have our dog as the ring bearer which was just amazing to have him there on our special day!'. Zeus, the couples dog, did not fail to make everyone smile as he trotted up the aisle, with the rings in a pouch around his neck!

The reception

The reception was  at Diamond Lounge, which they chose because 'the pricing was just to good not to', as Leigh says. The inside of the venue is stunning as it is a converted church & has the most amazing stain glass window. Leigh says 'The venue bent over backwards to please me. All the chair covers were included in the price.  We did do our own centre piece's but we literally dropped everything off the day before and Beckie set everything up perfectly for me on the day!'. Our theme was rustic we had a lot of greenery, logs and hessian / lace. I really loved all the decorated jars with candles in them! The decor couldn't have gone better! I was in love with my top table!

For dinner the couple put on a high tea of sandwiches, cream buns & nibbles. After the speeches, I took the guests outside for some fun portraits on the greenery, before starting with my secret message photos, where I ask the guests to write a message to the bride & groom on A chalkboard and hold it up for the camera. In the evening, the couple had a live singer, who was amazing and even peformed the song for their first dance. Leigh says  'I don't know if I could pin point a favourite part of the day it was all amazing, but  'Having my dog as ring bearer was definitely a highlight!'. She also says  'I also loved my first dance! We had a live singer James Sunderland singing a cover of Amazed - Lonestar and it really was just perfect!'.

Details of the day.

Dress: https://www.wed2b.co.uk/locations/south-yorkshire/yorkshire/wedding-dresses-rotherham Leigh's dress was from Wed2be in Rotherham. She ended up buying a dress that she saw a lot of potential in and took it to a seamstress, who altered it completely to be her dream dress.  The bridesmaids dresses were from Asos, and Leigh says they were a real Bargain.

Suit: https://www.suitdirect.co.uk/ The Groomsmens suits were from Suits Direct at Lakeside, Doncaster. As you can see for the photos, they all looked extremely dapper on the big day.

Flowers: https://www.facebook.com/floristinarmthorpe/ Leigh says 'I got an impressive discount for buying g a large quantity Flowers from The Flower Basket in Armthorpe. They were fab! I shopped around and they were the cheapest by a mile and everything ran really smoothly on the day'

Cake: https://www.cupcakes2loveltd.co.uk/ About the cake, Leigh says 'Again, we shopped around and they were the best deal! As I wanted a naked cake (not much icing covering the bare cake), they explained it would be rather dry to eat, so they they did me a deal where they gave me 3 cutting cakes that were to stay in the kitchen purely just to eat! They were sooo yummy!'

Bus: http://www.yorkshireheritagebus.co.uk/default.asp  The Bus was hired through The Yorkshire Heritage Bus Company and Leigh says they were really easy to deal with. The couple say having the bus made the day run a lot smoother.

Advice for other couples....

The couple say that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give to other couples would be that you don't have to spend thousands to have an amazing day! They say 'It isn't worth getting into debt over! We had a budget wedding but it still looked amazing! As you can see how goofy my face is in all of the photos I had the most amazing day and I don't think it would of mattered where I was as long as I had my nearest and dearest around me and I was marrying my best friend! It is risky choosing your date in England and the weather is a gamble no matter what but it was crazy hot on our day and not going to lie I can't really even remember the getting married part as I was just concentrating on not melting'.

Frankie and Leigh’s wedding just proves you don't have to break the bank to have the perfect day. Here’s a selection of images from their fabulous wedding.

INTIMATE ELOPEMENT WEDDING IN CYPRUS – LYNN & PAUL https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/5/intimate-elopement-wedding-in-cyprus-lynn-paul Lynn and Paul got married in Cyprus at Yermasoyia Cultural Centre. which is a renovated hall in the village of Yermasoyia, which is approximately 10 minutes drive from Limassol town. The Cultural Centre features traditional stone-work including an amphitheatre and is set in beautifully kept gardens with an air-conditioned wedding room, plus a gazebo outside, for weddings in the open air. When I found out about the venue I was really excited - afterall, how many weddings do you get to shoot, with an amphitheatre as a backdrop?

The surprise gate-crashers ...

They had their ceremony outdoors, in the beautiful gardens, under the gazebo. The ceremony was held early at 10.30am, before the Cypriot sun got too hot. They chose the venue it was really easy to book from England and the staff made the planning of their wedding stress-free.  The wedding itself was a small elopement. They invited only 11 guests - or so they thought! It just so happened that 2 of the brides best friends had got wind of the fact I was going to shoot the wedding and they begged me to help them gate-crash! The bride is my hairdresser and I know her quite well, as well her 2 best friends, so I took the risk of organising for them to come too, and stay with me in Limasol and gate crash when the couple arrived at the Cultural Centre. My heart was in my mouth the whole morning in case the 'surprise' did not go down well with the bride, who had sworn me to secrecy that she had chosen me to shoot her wedding. I covered the bridal and Groom prep at the RAF camp, where the Brides sister was living at the time. It was quite exciting to go on to an actual RAF camp - I even had to have a special security pass! When we got the cultural centre, just as the bride walked in, her two friends jumped out from behind the wall, were they were hiding. Luckily the bride was happy to see them once she got over her initial shock! The exact words to leave her mouth when she saw her friends were ' what the actual FUCK - I feel like there is something wrong with my HEAD'. Everyone was crying and laughing at the same time.

The Death Rocks ....

During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so emotional. There was not a dry eye in the building. This was followed by family photos in the amazing grounds, before the whole party, plus the two gate crashers, travelled in the mini bus to a lovely, local beach, known as Ladies Mile. The reception was due to held later on in the afternoon, at the wonderful Polis Taverna, but before that, the whole wedding party  enjoyed drinks at Ladies Mile beach, while the kids played in the sea. After a couple of hours at the beach, where the groom and his mates even played rugby in the sea, the mini bus dropped myself and the Bride & Groom off at the RAF camp, for some photos on the coast / rocks, while the rest of the guests headed to the Taverna & to the camp, to decorate both venues ready for later on. We got some stunning photos with the Cypriot coastine in the backgroup, in the sea and on the rocks. However we had forgotten to bring some water with us and there was no shade anywhere. It wasn't long before the bride started to feel really ill. Unfortunately, the wedding party took a while to return, and when the mini bus came back, Lynn felt like she needed to go home and be sick / lay down / die in a corner!

However, when she got to the Polis Taverna, her friend bought her a can of coke and this helped her to come around a bit! They had decorated the Tavern with rose petals (which strangely smelt of fish) shells and candles to give the tables a relaxed seaside vibe. A lovely meze meal followed, which was heartily enjoyed by all the guests, even the bride when she came round from her death-rock trauma. The meze dishes kept coming and coming, delicious Greek salad, dips, Chicken Kebab, Beef Stifado, Rice, Moussaka. It was a feast fit for a king & Queen, not just a newly married couple from Doncaster! After the Taverna, all guests headed back to the RAF camp for a party at the Bride's sister & Brother in Laws house, which had already been transformed into a magical wedding garden, while we had been almost frazzled to death on the rocks! The groom and his mates wasted no time getting in the hot tub, while the girls sat about chatting & laughing  The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening with a party, involving shots, more hut tub fun and yet more tears. The rocks are still affectionately known as 'Death rocks'  & I still have a giggle with the bride that she nearly died on her wedding day, when ever I see her.

The couples favorite part of the day ...

Lynn says 'My favourite part of the wedding would be hard to choose it was all so lovely but no would say everyone going to the beach and having a relaxing drink in the sun been surrounded by people who I love and knowing they love me too and seeing Paul take a sip of his drink with his wedding ring on, finally my husband'.  Lynn says 'Me and Paul have been together 13 years. I was 17, Paul was 21, I had secretly fancied him for a while and decided one night I would go and find out a bit more about him, unknown to me he had secretly fancied me too! We instantly hit it off and have only ever spent 15 nights apart in 13 years!  My dress was from needle and thread it's a really beautiful collection of really beautiful dresses and I ordered it and loved it straight away, it was perfect for the hot weather. The adult bridesmaid dresses were from ASOS they needed nipping and tucking in. This was completed by Ace Alterations in Doncaster and she did a amazing job - you couldn't tell they had been altered. The little bridesmaids dresses were from Matalan, perfect fit and cheap. The accessories we got from eBay, we got wrist flowers, fans, flowers, hair clips and even though they were not expensive, they looked beautiful (going to show you really don't have to pay loads for the little bits)'.

Advice from the couple when planning your own wedding ...

Lynn and Paul say that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is 'simply not to take things too serious (as in colour schemes, inviting people you don't see from year to year, table decorations, where you buy your dress from, what people will think) and relax into it. At the end of it all your getting married for you and your partner; it's about making you as a couple happy and your day is your day, live it, love it, enjoy it & don't stress about it'. Lynn says make your wedding day, YOURS and have fun. she also says Cyprus wedding are so easy there is no need for a wedding planner, just ring the town hall and get in contact with a register office.  It's cheap and easy!

People who went the extra mile ...

Lynn also says 'The people who went the extra mile undoubtedly, were my sister and brother in law who lived in Cyprus at the time. They put there heart and soul into making it a fabulous day, running around making sure everything was booked and sorted and made everything run as smoothly as possible. I loved how they turned their garden into a magical beautiful place, to have a small personal wedding reception! My oldest sister who bought my wedding gown as a gift to me, and my friends who did a 37 hour round trip just to see me get married because they didn't want to miss it, that touched me on a level that I've never felt before.  It was completely selfless and stunningly amazing that they did that for me. Also, Vicky, who travelled all the way to Cyprus to capture our wedding and all its emotions. She kept a professional and extremely friendly attitude throughout and gave us more than we could of imagined. It really felt like she was a part of our day and that made it just lovely'.

Lynn and Paul’s wedding in Cyprus was an amazing day and just the happiest day, even though there were tears aplenty and a near death experience. Here’s their gorgeous elopement!

ROMANTIC CASTLE WEDDING IN LYMPNE, KENT – KATIE & MATTHEW https://www.fyshcreativephotography.co.uk/blog/2018/3/romantic-castle-wedding-in-lympne-kent-katie-mathew ROMANTIC CASTLE WEDDING IN LYMPNE, KENT – KATIE & MATTHEW

Katie and Matthew got married last summer at the awesome Lympne Castle, which is an impressive Grade I building dating back to the 13th century.  It sits on the edge of a cliff looking over the Romney Marshes.  The ceremony was held at the local church, which is just next door to the castle, and where Matt proposed, under the arch way.

Lympne Castle ...

The couple chose Lympne Castle because the venue is special to them as it is where Matt's mum is laid to rest and so it is a very special place to the Groom's family, including his brother and father, who were Groomsmen. As Katie says 'The church was extra special for us because around the back, Jane, Matt's mum is there watching over us. The venue (Lympne Castle) was right next door which meant we could keep Jane close to us all day and family could go and visit her graveside'.

I was excited to shoot at Lympne Castle because the surroundings are just incredible and the scenery absolutely amazing, especially with the Kent coastline visable in the distance. Katie says she fell in love with the venue, due to the grand big windows that overlook the gardens and the coast, from the main building, which made a perfect spot for a photo op, during bridal prep and during the private couples session later in the day, too. The whole venue is magical and the perfect setting for a wedding, with many lovely spots for photos.

The Church Service ...

The wedding itself was a church service in the church next door not far from the castle. It is just just a short walk between both venues, with a secret door in the Castle wall, which takes you right to the Church entrance. This was useful as a shortcut when it started raining, right after the ceremony. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was a lovely ceremony. Katie had to fight not to cry during her wows, and she did this by taking big breaths to contol her emotions. Most of my couples will already know that I do like a good bit of crying at a wedding. I love capturing all the emotion from your big day.

The Reception ...

The reception was in a marquee and they had a 3 course sit down meal in the afternoon, and a buffet in the evening. They decorated the venue with wildflowers and Lilies, because they were the Groom's mum's favorite flowers. For dinner they had a roast dinner, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance involved the wedding party getting on the dancefloor to get the dancing going, and they finished off the evening with drinks a plenty! One of the funniest parts of the day was during the groomsmen prep was when the groomsmen decided to put on the spare bridesmaid dresses; they got quite into being 'bridesmaids', even feeling each others 'boobs' - I think they secretly loved it!. The whole day was fun filled; they also had lawn games during the day, after the meal, which everyone joined in with and got competitive about too! Katie says 'My favourite part of the day was the speeches and listening to the stories told by the best men (all three!). I also loved watching everyone having fun on the evening especially two of the best men, who did a parody to Despacito'.

The finer details ...

Katie got her dress from a shop called Bridal Gowns at Jodi in Maidstone and Matt got his suits from Suits Direct in Ashford. Katie says 'The venue was beautifully dressed by the Wedding Studio with a huge thanks to Mimi Fleur for the flowers. The church ladies at St Stephens Church Lympne also did a brilliant job with the church flowers that we donated back for their Sunday service'.

Katie and Matthew met at Uni in York and have been together for 5 and half years. When they first met at Uni, while studying the same course. Katie did not like Matt as she thought he was a 'stuck up' Southener. The Best Man made this a feature of his speech, which had everyone in stitches. They got together in their third year at uni after becoming good friends. The couple then moved to Kent in December 2015 to spend more time with his mum before she sadly passed away.  They got in touch with me as I had shot Katie's younger sister, Rachel's wedding to her hubby Ben, a few years previously and their enquiry was exciting for me as it meant I got to travel down to Kent from Doncaster for their big day. They said even though they were also paying for my travel and accommodation, my prices were competitive compared to most Kent based photographers, plus they already knew me, so knew they would feel comfortable with me as their photographer.  I was happy to travel to cover their big day, especially as they already felt like friends. The wedding was a mix of southerners & Northerners, with many of Katie's friends and family travelling from Doncaster, as well as me. As such, I already knew quite a few of the guests. Katie says  'Huge thank you to all our friends and family for travelling down to celebrate our wedding day and a special mention to Matt's old school friend Rory, who came up from Spain!'

Advice from the couple on planning your own wedding ...

Katie says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice she could give you is first create a Pinterest account. It is great for ideas! And to also allow the groom to make decisions with you because it is after all, his wedding too. Finally, Katie says make sure you enjoy every moment of the planning and day itself, because it soon flies by and before you know it your 8 months into the marriage!

Katie and Matthew’s wedding was totally epic and had such a fun atmosphere. Here’s their stunning wedding!
